Say hello to Chance—a rooster who deserved a second chance at life.

Chance was a victim of cockfighting and arrived with a string tied so tightly around his leg that his foot was in serious danger. He needed an emergency veterinary appointment to determine whether his foot could be saved or would have to be amputated.

Then, the community stepped up.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of supporters, enough money was raised to get Chance the emergency medical care he desperately needed. The veterinarian believed there was hope that his foot could recover, and Chance began two weeks of physical therapy with a follow-up appointment planned to determine the next steps.

Sadly, Chance’s journey came to an end on July 3, 2026.

Although we wish we could have given Chance more time, he was never alone. Because of the people who donated, supported him, and cared about his story, Chance experienced kindness and compassion when he needed it most.

Thank you to everyone who gave Chance a second chance. His life mattered, his suffering was seen, and he will always be remembered.
