Rescued from downtown Honolulu, Beauregard and Penelope were victims of horrific animal cruelty. Beauregard was shot with a crossbow. The bolt entered his back and went straight through him exitting his abdomen. Miraculously the bolt missed all of his vital organs. Beau’s hen, Penelope, was also a victim of animal cruelty having been shot in the back with a 4” blowdart that was lodge in her back.

Thanks to the efforts of many, to include our donors, Beauregard and Penelope both had surgery to have the obstructions removed and are on their way to a full recovery!

Our GoFundMe campaign is helping Trooper’s Chicken Rescue build Hawaiʻi’s first dedicated chicken rescue and rehabilitation sanctuary to meet a critical and urgent need across the islands. Every day, thousands of abandoned, injured, neglected, and cockfighting-surviving chickens are left without a safe place to go, often resulting in continued suffering or euthanasia. As a volunteer-driven organization, we currently respond using our own vehicles, supplies, homes, and personal funds, but the scale of the crisis far exceeds what a small rescue network can manage alone. With your support, this campaign will help fund land acquisition, secure housing, medical and recovery space, expanded rescue transport capacity, and a permanent humane solution for Hawaiʻi’s chickens. This sanctuary will provide safety, rehabilitation, and long-term care while also serving as a center for education, compassion, and awareness about responsible animal care and the cruelty tied to cockfighting.

  • Your donation will go directly towards efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome chickens from all types of situations in Oahu, Hawaii.

  • YES! We have a variety of needs from Social Media support, to rescue and relocation to Education and Outreach. Please go to the Volunteer Application and provide your information and interests in volunteering and a team member will get back to you shortly.

  • We primarily take donations via our website as that money goes directly into our account, but would definitely take donated chicken supplies of all kinds.
