Cheesecake was born a wild rooster in Kapolei and should have spent his days foraging, exploring, and simply being a chicken. Instead, he became a target for local “chicken boys” who repeatedly captured and abused him.
His comb and wattles were cut off without anesthesia, his leg was tied with string, his feathers were ripped out, and he was forced into street fights. For weeks, Cheesecake lived in fear.
A concerned neighbor finally reached out for help, and a Trooper’s Chicken Rescue volunteer came to his rescue. After a difficult capture, Cheesecake was finally brought to safety.
Today, he is healing at TCR, surrounded by love, care, and people who want him to know one thing: he is finally safe.
