Maui was one of Trooper’s Chicken Rescue’s most tender souls—a blind rooster with a gentle spirit who adored warm cuddles, peaceful dust baths, and the comfort of feeling safe.

Maui arrived at TCR in June 2026 in critical condition, battling multiple illnesses, including a severe eye infection. His condition was heartbreaking, but he was surrounded by dedicated rehabbers and a community that refused to give up on him.

During his time at TCR, Maui experienced something every animal deserves: comfort, compassion, and love. He was able to relax in a safe environment, enjoy gentle care, and spend his days knowing that he was protected.

Sadly, after his difficult health battle, Maui passed away on September 9, 2026.

Although his time with us was far too short, Maui left a lasting impression on everyone who cared for him. His gentle nature, his love of cuddles, and his quiet determination touched the hearts of those around him.

Maui’s life was not defined by his blindness or his illnesses. It was defined by the love he received, the comfort he found, and the people who made sure he knew he was safe.

Rest peacefully, sweet Maui. You were loved, you mattered, and you will never be forgotten.
