Ranger was found barely clinging to life after being dumped following a life of cockfighting. A Good Samaritan spotted him at Schofield Barracks and reported him, giving Trooper’s Chicken Rescue the chance to step in and save his life.

When Ranger was rescued, he was severely injured and in terrible condition. He had lost one eye because of the mistreatment he endured and was so weak that simply surviving was a struggle. But Ranger refused to give up.

His recovery was nothing short of remarkable. With medical care, rehabilitation, nourishment, and plenty of love, Ranger slowly regained his strength and began to heal.

Today, the rooster who was once fighting just to stay alive has an entirely different life. Ranger is safe, healthy, and surrounded by four hens who keep him very busy!

His transformation is a powerful reminder of what can happen when someone stops, notices an animal in need, and gives them a chance to live. Ranger went from barely clinging to life to waking up each day with a flock of his own—and that is the kind of happy ending every rescue deserves.
