In Loving Memory of Roadie

Roadie’s story began on the side of the road in Kāneʻohe, where he was found alone, injured, and unable to use either of his legs.

We may never know exactly what happened to him. We suspect he may have been struck by a vehicle, but one thing was clear—Roadie had been through something traumatic. A string was tightly tied around one of his legs, suggesting that at some point, someone had him in their care.

Despite everything he endured, Roadie was given a second chance.

He was brought to Trooper’s Chicken Rescue, where one of our dedicated rehabbers on the North Shore provided him with the love, comfort, and specialized care he desperately needed. Roadie’s journey reminded us that every life matters, no matter how difficult its beginning may have been.

Sadly, Roadie has passed away. 💔

Although his time with us was far too short, his life mattered, his suffering mattered, and the love he received mattered. Roadie will forever be remembered as one of the many lives that touched the hearts of those who cared for him.
